Ocean State Chess Association is the Official R.I. State Affiliate of the United States Chess Federation
The Ocean State Scholastic Chess League has the Largest Scholastic Chess Leagues in Rhode Island that consists of
30+ teams from schools in the state of R.I. which gives students the opportunity to play chess against other other schools.
You must have a minimum of 4 players from your school to participate, but you can have as many as you like on one team.
The Ocean State Chess Association currently which schedule school matches from January-March each year. The Leagues include: High School Teams (Grades 9-12), Middle School Teams (Grades 6-8), and an Elementary School Teams (Grades K-5).
Registration for the 2025 Ocean State Scholastic Chess League registration will open in September – December 2024. This year’s deadline for registration is December 13, 2024 and the $175 (per team) payment is due by January 2, 2025. However, if you have 10+ students in your club you might consider registering 2 teams. We have a special rate for schools with two teams in same league. OSCA currently has over 30+ school teams in our 3 OSCA Scholastic Chess Leagues. The schedules are send out usually end of December and before January 2, and school matches run from January – March 2025. Contact us for more information.
