Massachusetts Girls Qualifier – Under 1000 Section Open To Out-Of-State Players

Location: Boylston Chess Club Boston, 35 Kingston St. Suite 1, Boston, MA 02111

Format: 4SS. Under 1000 G/30, d5 & Premier G/45, d5;

Round 1: starts at 10 a.m. Other rounds start ASAP

Prizes: The winner of the Premier Section will receive an invitation to the MA Girls’ Invitational Championship, to compete to represent MA in the 2023 Ruth Haring National Girls Tournament of Champions , Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 players in each section. Players scoring three points or more and not winning a trophy will win a medal.

Entry Fee: Discounted fee of $30 if mailed by 3/13 or paid online by 3/17. Regular fee of $35 at the door. Additional $15 discount for first-time players in a USCF-rated tournament in the Under 1000 section.

Byes: One ½-point bye is allowed in the U1000 section. No ½-point byes are allowed in the Premier section

Other Information:
* Official March ratings are used for pairings
* Open to girls in grades K-12.
* Premier section is restricted to Massachusetts residents and students rated 800 and above.
* Under 1000 Section is open to out-of-state players
* MA high school girl chess players will be available to review games for entry level chess players.
* All electronic devices must be turned off completely and stored out of sight.
Players are forbidden to have electronic devices on them at any time during the game
* In the interest of the players, no spectators are allowed in the playing hall when games are in progress
* Penalties are at the discretion of the TD and may include reducing the remaining time
of the offending player or declaring the game to be lost by the offender
* Masks are required. Players should bring chess sets and clocks,
