This FREE Tournament is the final event in the series “Three Days of Chess“
which is a series of chess events made possible through a grant from the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture

The tournament is open to all chess players regardless of rating. Rated sections require USCF membership.

Please Read: We have reached our indoor capacity of 60 people.
An additional 20 outdoor spots may be available depending on the weather.

Players must be present on the day of the tournament no later than 1:45pm and re-register in person (doors open 1pm).
We may also have spots available on the day depending on no-shows and late cancellations. 
Turn up on the day no later than 1:30pm to be added to waitlist.

​Format: 5SS, G10;d5
* Tournament is 5 rounds, players get 10 minutes with 5 seconds delay
* Must be a USCF member to participate in the rated sections
* No USCF membership required for unrated sections 

​4 Sections:
* 2 Rated Section (USCF membership is required)
* 2 Unrated Section (No USCF membership required)

Entry Fee: FREE – Register Early. Limited space. Last years event was sold out

​​Sections & Prizes
Higher USCF Rated Section (RED) = $75-$50-$25 Gift Card
Lower USCF Rated Section (YELLOW) = $50 – $30 – $20 Gift Cards

Unrated Section (No USCF membership required)
Higher Unrated Section (GREEN) = 1st, 2nd, 3rd: Medals
Lower Unrated Section (BLUE) = 1st, 2nd, 3rd: Medals

Round Times:
* R1: 2:00 pm, R2: 2:35 pm, R3: 3:10 pm, R4: 3:45 pm, R5: 4:20 pm
* Rounds 2 thru 5 may start sooner than scheduled.
* Prize giving and closure will be after Round 5 has been completed
* Tournament starts promptly at 2:00 pm (must be registered by 1:45pm), Finished around 4:30 pm

​Additional Information
* Doors open at 1:15pm (45 mins before the tournament start)
* On-site registration closes 30 minutes before Round 1​ (i.e. at 1:30pm)
* Players not present and not checked in by 1:45pm will be removed from the tournament
* No phones allowed during tournament play.
* This event is financed through a grant from the Mayor’s Office of Arts & Culture
organized by Jamaica Plains Chess Club (JP Chess) and Ocean State Chess Association (OSCA)

* If you feel sick or have been in close contact with someone recently with COVID please do not attend the tournament.
* The event is taking place in a public location. Please keep your belongings safe and with you at all times.
* Parental supervision is required for all juniors.
* Photography will happen at the event and may be used in social media posts.
