FORMAT & ROUND TIMES: 4SS, G/45; d5 – 4 Rounds, each player gets 45 min. each, 5 second delay
Round 1: 10:00 am – 11:40 am
Lunch: 11:45 am – 12:30 pm
Round 2: 12:30 am – 2:10 pm
Round 3: 2:10 – 3:50 pm
Round 4: 3:50 – 5:30 pm
Awards: 5:30 pm

RHODE ISLAND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP REPRESENTATIVES
Top Rhode Island winners from each section (plus top rated R.I. players) will be eligible to participate in the R.I. Closed Invitational Scholastic Championship Tournament on April 26-27, 2025, which will determine the Top 3 Player representatives from Rhode Island for U.S. Chess Federation National Denker (High School), Barber (Middle School) & Rockefeller (Elementary) to participate at the U.S. Chess National Tournament of State Champions in Madison, Wisconsin on July 28 -31, 2025. ENTRY FEES
* Early Bird Entry Fee is $40 until Monday 3/10. Team Early Bird Discount Entry fee is $140 ($35 each x 4 players)
* Regular Registration Entry Fee is $47 until Friday 3/14. Team Regular Entry Fee is $160 ($40 each x 4 players)
* Late Registration Entry Fee “The Day of Event” is $55 on 3/15. Late Team Entry Fee is $200 ($50 each x 4 players)
- * DISCOUNT TEAM ENTRY FEE: Schools with 4 OR MORE PLAYERS or SIBLINGS are Eligible for a minus -$5-7 per person “ENTRY FEE DISCOUNT.” – Note: Top 4 Team Player scores will counted for each “Team Score.” – For example, If a team has 6 players, the top 4 scores will be counted. Team players will not paired against each other unless they are competing for 1st Place champion in round 4
*DISCOUNT – SIBLINGS: All siblings receive a -$5 discount on each entry fee ($35) if register by 3/10
- * DISCOUNT 1st-TIME USCF TOURNAMENT ENTRY = If this is your 1st Rated USCF Event, OSCA will provide a discounted price of
$44 for Entry Fee which Includes your $24 USCF Membership + $20 Discounted EF. Must register by Wednesday 3/12.

- * Longer Game G/45;d5 Championship time control; Accelerated Pairings may be used rounds 1-2
- * This is Both a Scholastic MULTI-STATE Individual Championship & Team Championship.
* OPEN TO OUT-OF-STATE STUDENTS FROM RI, MA, CT, & EVERY STATE - * Top Out-of-State Winner is eligible for a separate 1st Place trophy, but Top R.I. 1st Place Champions must be from Rhode Island
- * Tournament will Start ON-TIME at 10:00 AM – Late Entries after 9:40 may receive 1/2 pt. bye
- * You can still register and play as an individual with no team
- * Players will enjoy this beautiful college venue with multiple skittles rooms provided. Plenty or parking.
college cafeteria will be open for lunch with salad bar, soup station, burger & deli, pizza, snacks and drinks - * Team Competition: Each school’s team score is calculated by adding points from the top 4 players on that team. Must have minimum of 3 players for a team. Maximum limit is 7 per team. Teams with 8-10+ players or more should register two teams, each with 4-5 players on each team as “A” & “B” Teams to avoid pairing issues. Accelerated pairings may be used in rounds 1 & 2.
- * Players must be from the same school. Students must play in grade section. Please list your school on entry form.
- * Spectators & parents do NOT have to buy a registration ticket, parents are free
- * Please bring a chess clock if you have one. Chess sets will be provided.
