OSCA 2nd Papa Gino’s Scholastic G/15 Rapid Tournament (West Warwick, RI) – Tentative

Format: 4SS, G/15; d5 – 4 Rounds. Each player gets 15 Minutes with 5 second delay.
QUICK RATED ONLY. Round 1 starts around 11:00 AM. Finish 2:00-3:00 PM.

• Event is limited to 36 Players (Must be a student, under age 18)

3 SECTIONS & PRIZES – Must be Scholastic Gr. K-12
* U1200 (High Level) = Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place
* U800 (Intermediate) = Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place
* U500 (Novice/beginner) = Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place
Medals will be given to players for ties or with 2.5 pts or higher who don’t receive a trophy.

EF: Only $20 in advance for all advance entries, limited to 36 participants.
On-site entry day of event is $5 more, Late Entry will be $25 (If room available)
Rated Sections must have USCF membership. OSCA Discounts for USCF membership below.

FREE USCF MEMBERSHIP FOR 1st -TIME UNRATED TOURNAMENT PLAYERS
1st-Time New players (Unrated without USCF membership, Not Renewals) will receive a
FREE $20 USCF “Youth” Membership INCLUDED with Discount $25 registration. Free Tournament is Included!
Must be done in advance. This is for players with no current USCF membership – Not USCF Renewals.

ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
* limited to 36 players, so please register as soon as possible
* Round 1 will start at 11:00 AM, will run continuously
* There will be a short break for lunch after round 2 or 3 to order food from PAPA Gino’s
* Most Sections will Finish around 2:00 PM, U1200 Section between 2:30-3:00 PM
* Chess sets & clocks will be provided.
* Byes must be requested in advance. Late entries paired if possible of get 1/2 point bye.
* You may arrive at 11:40 for 2nd Round, but request one 1/2 point bye for Round 1 (advance entry)
* Players can always play “up” in a higher section.
* Scholarships are available (Free Entry Fee) please email Ocean State Chess in advance with reason why
* On-site Entry Fee the Day of Event is $10 extra, if tickets are not “sold out”
