Connecticut State Chess Association Event: 28th Annual Robert Musicant – Donald Yazgoor Memorial Chess Tournament (Norwalk, CT)

Date/Time: Saturday, June 1, 2024; Round 1 at 10:30am, then ASAP.
Awards by 3:30 PM. Online registration ONLY thru 6 PM on May 31
Rnd/TC/Bye: 4 Rounds SS G/25 d5 (all players play 4 games); One ½ point bye permitted in Rounds 1-3; 0 point byes in any Round.
Sections: 3 sections: Open (pK-12); U1000 (pK-12); U600 (pK-6)
Prizes: Trophies to Top 3 per section and highest finishing non-placing pK-2, 3-5, 6-8 players overall; Medals to non-trophy players; Names of Top and Top U1200 engraved on Musicant and Yazgoor Cups, respectively.
Tie-Breaks: For perfect (4-0) scores, a G/5/4 d2 playoff will determine the section winner; USCF tie breaks determine seeding and color choice.
Entry Fees: $35 by May 28; $50 by 6 PM on May 31. Online registration, ONLY. First time USCF members, get $15 OFF entry, email CSCA for discount code. Credits/Discounts: Please email CSCA ahead of registration for discount code, if: Hardship (discount varies) or Sibling (10%). Premium Members apply discount with provided code. First time USCF members $15 OFF.

Day of event: Chess sets will be provided. If you have a chess clock, please bring it with you
Organizer will have some additional clocks, but may not have enough for everyone.
We plan on taking a short lunch break during the event after Round 2. Otherwise, Rounds will be
paired as soon as all play in the prior round is complete. Approximate schedule by round is
10:30a, 11:45a, LUNCH, 1:00p, 2:10p.
Award Ceremony expected by 3:30pm.
ALL PLAYERS PLAY 4 GAMES. This is not an elimination tournament.
ALL PARTICIPANTS: The library opens at 10 AM. Library café is open until 2 PM. Please
arrive on time and check the Advanced Entry List to confirm your registration information.
