* Players who enter after, at the discretion of the Chief Tournament Director, will be given a half point bye for round 1
* Pairing will be posted 20-30 Minutes before Round 1, Tournament will NOT be delayed

Additional Information
* Open to Out-of-State Players are eligible for 1st, 2nd 3rd place trophies, however the Special (separate) 1st Place State Championship Trophy for R.I. Open Champion, and the R.I. Open Amateur Champion (U1700) must be R.I. residents.
* If a non-resident wins sections, they receive the 1st place monetary prize & trophy too. but the title of Champion and Amateur Champion would go to the RI resident with the highest score. Out-of-State players eligible for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies
* Players can only play up one section from their rating in the most recent published USCF Rating Supplement
* Ratings less than 1200 cannot enter the Open section, and ratings less than 800 cannot enter the Amateur (U1700) section.
* Note: All Sections will be playing in side rooms, not in large hall for this event
* Players can take one 1/2 bye in advance, but must be requested before round 1, After Rd 1 player receives 0 Point bye
* Half point byes can be requested for round 4 in advance before round 1; However, you may be ineligible for money prizes.
* Active USCF membership is required for all sections. If expired please renew USCF membership at bottom of page
* Chess Sets will be provided. Clocks are limited, so please bring a clock if you have one
* February 2026 USCF Rating Supplement used unless you are unrated. Provisional USCF rating established after 4 games.

* No outside food will be allowed on the 3rd floor Tournament area or rooms.
