- LOU GIARRUSSO (May 11, 1923 – Present) a local RI WWII Veteran will be 100 YEARS OLD, regularly plays weekly at multiple R.I. chess clubs & tournaments; He will be honored (and playing in tournament) at this Once-in-a-lifetime Inaugural Championship Cup Event
- Lou will be presented with special awards for lifetime achievements. LET’S GET 100 PLAYERS TO SUPPORT HIM for HIS 100th BIRTHDAY at this Historical celebration!
Prizes: $1800 b/50 (paid entries)

4SS, G/60; d5 OPEN = $500 – $300 – $150
4SS, G/60; d5 U1500 = $400 – $250 – $100
4SS, G/30; d5 U1000 = Trophies to Top 3 Players
4SS, G/30; d5 U600 = Trophies to Top 3 Players
Biggest Upset Open / U1500 = $100
* Round 1 will start at 9:30 AM. Anyone can play in a higher section.
* Round Times will be 9:30 AM, (Lunch 12:00-12:30) 12:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 4:30 PM. will be continuous
* Players who arrive late after the start of Round 1 will receive a 1/2 pt. bye or may be paired with late arrivals.
* Byes must be requested in advance before start of tournament.
* $1800 – Biggest Prize Fund awarded at Rhode Island Rated event in RI Chess History!
* $ Prizes b/50 paid entries from top 2 sections. 90%+ of EF paid out
* Open to Out-of-State Players. Plenty of parking. Beautiful College Campus. Extra skittles rooms, Lounge. Cafeteria.

* EF $38 for OPEN & U1500 Sections. Entry is $7 more ($45) cash on-site.
* EF $25 for U1000 & U600 SECTIONS. $5 more ($30) cash on-site
* GM’s & IM’s Free, EF deducted from prizes.
* 1st-TIME STUDENT TOURNAMENT DISCOUNT = $25 INCLUDES FREE USCF “YOUTH” MEMBERSHIP WORTH $20
* Lower sections finish around 2:30 PM. Higher sections after 6:00 PM.
* Chess sets provided. Bring a clock if you have one. Late Entries will receive 1/2 pt. bye or be paired if possible
