Thank you for taking the time as we are trying to help raise money to support Doug Cataldo and his family. Doug is diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer and his doctors have told him only 17 people in the United States currently have this form of cancer. Unfortunately\, the diagnosis is Small Cell Colorectal Cancer\, Stage 4\, which means it’s metastasized to other areas of his body and treatment options are limited. Doug has been told that this cancer is terminal and he likely has 3-6 months left to live and be with his family. \n\n\n\nDoug has been through 10 rounds of chemo with no options given for radiation or surgery\, but the tumors and the pain they cause continue to grow and spread. \n\n\n\nRight now\, Doug and his family are seeking help through Dana Farber in Massachusetts in hopes of finding a way to extend his life long enough to qualify for a trial specific to his cancer type. \n\n\n\nThe family has spent the last 11 months working to help care for him. What this has meant for his family is shouldering travel costs to make sure Doug gets his needed medical care\, attending doctor appointments with Doug\, and making sure he’s eating and staying hydrated to reduce emergent care. This has led to significant financial stressors and worries about being able to be there for Doug without losing their own housing and employment while bills have been left unpaid. \n\n\n\nFMLA has been depleted and this is causing an even greater financial struggle with the current high risk of losing housing\, let alone other bills that have been left unpaid that are only gaining interest. Every month has been a decision of what bills absolutely need to get paid but now even rent has been a struggle. \n\n\n\nAny help given will go towards helping the family regain financial stability during these difficult times and alleviate that added stress so that they can continue to care for Doug and spend what precious time they have left with him. \n\n\n\nThank you so much for your consideration in helping raise money for Doug’s family. (4 Games per month)\, only $5 per week to play(Each player gets 45 minutes with a 10 second delay)* Weekly G/45 tournament results from all 4 weeks submitted at end of the month as a 4-Round Tournament* Rated Games Start Promptly at 7:00 PM\, please arrive by 6:45-6:50 PM * Unrated players may join us and play fun side games anytime for Free \n\n\n\n\n* USCF RATED G/45;d10 – 45 Min each w/10 sec delay – 1 game per week = cost $5.00\n\n\n\n* FREE (UNRATED) Fun Chess Games if players are available – New members are always welcome\, Please Join Us!\n\n\n\n* Rated Weekly Games will start @ 7:00 PM\, Check-in by 6:50 pm\n\n\n\n* PRIZES (RATED SECTION) b/10 players each week = 1st Place $80 & 2nd Place $40\, and Biggest Upset Game $20\n\n\n\n* New/Renewal USCF Memberships available (Optional)\n\n\n\n* Unrated Show up anytime to play chess\, and stay as short or long as you like.
